Message from the President

Karen Neal

This year Disneyland Resort will be giving us 4 Day-Hopper Disneyland Tickets (a one day visit for both parks) to raffle so we can raise the money to support our costs at the MuzeO. Only 200 raffle tickets have been printed for the sale. The raffle tickets are $5.00 each. Drawing will be at the Awards presentation of our 54th Annual Open Exhibition on Oct 29

(you do not have to be present to win). Value is almost $700.

Please bring exact amount/amounts for your purchase!!!

                                                                                       Kind regards,

Hi Everyone,

Here we are into our new year! We had a great turn-out for

our 54th Open Juried Exhibition. Thank you to everyone who

volunteered their time at the take-in and afterwards also. Tony

was there through Thursday orchestrating the painting hanging

(and more) by MuzeO hires who did an excellent job.

Me, I am still doing Data Entry! Rick Neal, our treasurer, is putting

all the numbers together for us. Our Show opened Friday September 1st with 200 pieces

of Art Work hanging. This is the best Exhibition I have witnessed.. Don’t miss seeing this

outstanding event.

We need some artists to sign up for sitting (docent) at the MuzeO. I think we have about

7 open afternoon slots (1:30 TO 5) in October If you have a painting hanging and didn’t

work at the take-in you must sit. You will be called or please call me to save me the time

away from painting. You are welcome to sit even if you didn’t enter.

Some new Events/Meetings for our New Year.

• Sept 1 - Official opening of our Exhibition at the MuzeO.

Demonstrators through December 2017:

October  11, 2017  - Joe Oaks  Acrylic

November 8, 2017 - Karen Werner  oil

December 13, 2017 - William Galvez  Oil, finishing a painting from last yearglazes etc

• October 17 - Juan Magoo Valencia Workshopwatercolor $35.00

• Oct 29, Sunday - Reception for our 54th Open, Go to Website:

• Workshops for November and December are very close to Thanksgiving and Christmas

and not sure if there will be any workshops for these months. Check the Website.

• Paint together every Tuesday 12-3:30 pm in our normal meeting room at the DCC

except for 3rd Tuesday when a workshop is being held.

Our summer Life Drawing workshops were a success in June and July. Thank our

Cesar Devera and Mary Ann Cosgrove who ran the workshops.

Thank you again for those who have helped make our 54th Annual Juried Open

Exhibition a success!

About 50 Disneyland raffle tickets (only 200 to be sold) left for the 4 Day Hopper tickets

donated by Disneyland. The tickets are $5.00 each. We will sell more at our September

meeting. These funds from the sale of tickets will be applied toward our MuzeO costs. For

the last 3 years Disney had donated $1,000 for our Open. Now we must sell tickets so we

can match this amount.

We will need people to volunteer for a committee & committee leaders for 2018. In the

near future I will be posting these committees. Step up and have a say in your association

and help the few who do it all. We will have to eliminate events if we do not get more

volunteers. WE NEED YOU!
